Understanding The Rules of Red Dog Poker

red dog poker is a game that aims to determine whether randomly selected cards would have a value falling within the value of previously drawn cards. Cards from 2 to 10 have a similar value, Jacks are worth 11, Queens are valued as 12, kings are worth 13, while an ace is worth 14. Shuffling is done at the conclusion of each round. Each hand has three cards. Card suits are immaterial in this game.

At the onset, the players make an initial wager and each player is dealt two cards. As previously mentioned, the aim in Red Dog is to predict the possibility that the value of a third card lies within the initial two cards. The player gets the victory if the rank of the third card is within the value of the two previously drawn cards. Otherwise, the player loses their bet.

When the cards have been dealt, a black marker indicates the distance between the cards. The amount of cards separating the two is known as spread. For instance, the value of the cards are 7 and 10, the distance between them is 2. If the succeeding hand is a 4 and 5, there is no spread and a "tie" ensues.

Let us now take a look at the various hands that are used in Red Dog Poker.

When the count of two cards dealt by the dealer follow each other, this is known as a consecutive hand. When this happens, no third card will be drawn and a "tie" ensues. The original bet is returned to the player.

In the case of a non-consecutive hand, the spread is declared and marked accordingly. If this is the case, the player can offer a raise which is similar to the original bet. Here a third card will be drawn. They also have the option to keep the amount of their initial bet. The player scores a win if the amount of the third card is within the amount of the two previously drawn cards. On the other hand, the player loses his bet if the third card dealt is similar to either of the initial two cards. There is no push in this kind of hand.

In a pair hand, the two cards drawn by the dealer has identical values. The dealer will then deal a third card. If the count of the third card is identical to the two previously drawn cards, the player is entitled to an 11:1 payout. A push will ensue if the rank of the third value is not identical to the two previously drawn cards. The player gets their original bet back.
